May 10th has been the "National Day of Remembrance of the Slave Trade, Slavery and their Abolition" since 2006.

The Creole Department celebrates this day with a commemoration by screening the scientific documentary "Slavery in Bourbon" followed by a discussion with the director and the scientific direction of the film.

A kabar fonnkèr with guests and an open stage will close the event.
