What was planned
- Continue, perpetuate and develop the actions initiated in 2022 and 2023, including digital accessibility awareness sheets, and the implementation of the first DU digital accessibility reference;
- Control and correct the tools and content produced and in production;
- Implement a system of manual and automatic control audits to maintain accessibility.
What we have done
- Nine awareness sheets on digital accessibility were published between January and December 2024, in the form of a monthly newsletter for all university staff.
- The University Diploma in Digital Accessibility (DU RAN) was completed with 21 winners out of 23 registered.
- Work on making the DU RAN Moodle accessible has been continued for all of the university's educational platforms.
- The blocking inaccessibility of the registration software (e-candidat) used by a large number of universities has been reported to the consortium involved, some DU candidates having been unable to register by themselves.
- the website https://www.univ-reunion.fr, following a series of fixes, has moved from non-compliant to partially compliant.
- The remaining non-conformities are currently being corrected with a counter-audit planned for the last week of January 2025.
- The university directory has also been the subject of a correction which brought it to 91% compliance.
- The WordPress editor is being simplified to limit errors on the contributor side.
- The entire web and digital accessibility department has been trained in educational scripting to be able to organize more lively and therefore more effective training sessions. We now have a detailed scenario to support an educational sequence on the production of accessible documents.
- "My digital accessibility space” was created under Moodle and is launched at the end of the year, with a Christmas quiz. This digital space is intended to evolve over time and to be enriched with training modules for all staff at the University of La Réunion. In addition to the quiz, it currently includes a glossary, a FAQ, a forum and some resources.
- The implementation of the automatic audit and control system has been postponed until early 2025. An in-house tool, for the moment, monitors broken links and identifies empty links on the university website in order to correct them.
- Targeted training for a major PDF image producer service has led it to now systematically offer a text alternative in its emails and on its website.
