Text transcription, describe well to say everything

Situation

I'm hard of hearing, I'm watching a video, and I need the text transcript to access all the information. Since it doesn't exist, I can't understand everything. So I'm being wronged.

Information

A text transcript should convey all the information contained in a video or audio content in text format. It should contain everything that is said and also describe contextual information useful for understanding.

It must be located in the immediate vicinity of the support or be available on another page via a link placed next to it.

Text transcription allows people who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf to access audiovisual content. It is also useful for those who prefer text to images. It thus allows you to reach a wider audience and promotes indexing by search engines.

Text transcription and subtitles should not be confused. They are two complementary elements: one is displayed synchronously on the media (the subtitles), the other is a text file that can be read separately.

Our recommendations

Stay true to the content of the audio or video files.

Respect the chronological order of events.

Structure your text transcription to make it easier to read.

Remember that your transcript must be an accessible document.
