Cinema & anthropology
March 05 and 06 at 18:30 p.m. - Moufia Campus
A film conference in the presence of filmmakers and anthropologists, to be seen in the Ottino amphitheater
“Modes of knowledge through listening and looking”
Cinema, whether fiction or documentary, has posed social questions and led us to re-examine our relationship with the world. What is the object of anthropology if not precisely this relationship with the world, this invention of living specific to each culture? By positing these two practices as modes of knowledge through listening and looking, these conferences offer an interdisciplinary dialogue on contemporary questions that our societies pose to us in their evolution.
The screenings will be followed by an exchange with Patrick DESHAYES, filmmaker and anthropologist (LESC CNRS University of Paris Nanterre) and Mathieu TAVERNIER, filmmaker.
