BU Education (INSPE de Bellepierre)

Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 18:30 p.m.

Through the photographic exhibition “Common voyage”, Clémence Leconte, a graduate of IAE Caen Normandie, highlights the journey of 26 asylum seekers who left their country in the hope of a better life. The photograph highlights these days spent with them, in a daily life that oscillates between hope, questioning, waiting and worry. It is therefore all kinds of emotions and feelings that are experienced by a plurality of people, whether they are a single woman or man, family, siblings, friends.

A word from the artist: The Common Voyage exhibition, a title that makes sense. On the one hand, there is the journey with this idea of moving from point A to point B. Although it may be different in distance, the migratory journey remains the first step. It is also a way of realizing and imagining the hardness of the journey […]. But it is a journey that is motivated and, according to some of the people photographed, it allows you to maintain hope and not give up. And the second element of the title of this exhibition is of the order of the common. These would-be asylum seekers are pushing the doors of France with the common perspective of obtaining protection. The procedures will therefore be the same for each and every one of them. Present themselves in Paris, then be a dispatcher in the regions of France within the CAES, this center in which they will be welcomed for a maximum of 30 days before being transferred to another reception center for a longer period. They are all tossed around in different French systems, at least for those who obtain an accommodation offer. It is clear that this is not the majority […]. Photographic work is a mediation tool which allows the esteem of others, to give time, to have informal times. The way I want to use it is through testimony […]. Thanks to photography and a few words to give it meaning, I show everyday life. My desire is simple, to shine a light on human beings.
