Astronomer, astrophysicist, and explorer Merieme Chadid is a leader and founder of polar astronomy. She invites the public on a scientific and human journey to the frontiers of the world. Through her life story and expeditions to Antarctica, she will show how the polar regions offer unique conditions for exploring the Universe.

Merieme Chadid is in Reunion Island as part of the Camp ZABÈY project, an introductory course to mathematical research, intended for high school girls from Reunion Island, organised by the IREMI of Reunion Island (research institute on the teaching of mathematics and computer science), the University of Aix-Marseille and the Gustave Eiffel University, and supported by the Faculty of Science and Technology, the University of Reunion Island, the Makes astronomical observatory, the Reunion Island academy and the CIRM (international centre for mathematical meetings, Marseille).
