Video games are almost 70 years old and exist today on multiple media: computer, smartphone, portable console, home console, etc. An inseparable element of pop culture and the 80s and 90s, everyone undoubtedly has a memory linked to video games. Whether it's with Pong, PacMan, an arcade machine, or because your child refused to come down to dinner because he couldn't (or didn't want to!) pause his game. This conference will address the development and history of video games from the 50s/60s to the present day, the different types of games and the associated vocabulary, but also transversal subjects such as cinema through video games (The World of Ralph, Ready Player One), or even how to stand out in a job interview thanks to the skills acquired by playing video games. Where players were previously “weird”, “apart” people, it seems that they are gradually taking their revenge in the real world.
