"The Red Shoes," a tale by Hans Christian Andersen, is an ode to dance, and also a somber and tragic story:
A poor young girl receives a pair of magnificent red shoes as a gift. She is forbidden to wear them, but desire overwhelms her, and she puts them on. Then she is swept away in a mad and macabre dance. Condemned to wander endlessly, she chooses to have her feet cut off.
This text is the starting point of this project. A playground where the world of a dancer – Marion Brugial – and that of a storyteller – Laurent Sallée – meet.
Duration: 50 min – performance followed by a post-show discussion
