The University of La Réunion is celebrating the Chinese New Year!

To celebrate the Chinese New Year 2023, under the sign of the Water Rabbit, the Confucius Institute of Reunion team is offering a series of events at the university. You can also find the team at certain festivities on the island.

Series of two lectures online (zoom) “THE ART OF TEA AND YIXING CERAMICS” by Katrin Rougeventre, sinologist and author of the reference work “The Empire of Tea”:

Friday 17/02 at 14 p.m.: “The art of Yixing ceramic tea – part two”

Duration of conferences: 1 hour

Open to the general public, and free, upon registration

These two conferences are devoted to the art of tea and Yixing ceramics. We will go to the shores of Lake Taihu, to meet potters, to study their manufacturing methods, types of clay, cooking, kilns, etc. But also in Hong Kong where we will visit the Flagstaff Museum, famous for its wonderful collection of zisha teapots (紫砂).
