The BU Saint-Denis Education and the association La Réunion des livres offer you a literary meeting with Leila Bouherrafa, Prix du Novel Métis des Lycéens 2023.

Tuesday April 9 from 14:00 p.m. to 15:30 p.m. at the Education BU (Bellepierre site).

Free entry and open to all.

Leila Bouherrafa is winner of the 2023 Métis High School Novel Prize for her novel “You deserve a country”.

It tells the story of the struggle of an exile in France, where one is never quite “French enough”, as the author writes.

At the same time he tells the story of an emancipation, his own, (in an unsanitary hotel run by a slumlord, obliged to do the cleaning and in particular to polish the toilets of the café of a certain Mrs. Meng...) a language that is both biting, poetic, and powerful to express the anger that makes it vibrate.
