Training summary
The FLE course of the Bachelor's degree, offered exclusively remotely, constitutes an initial training in didactics, for people interested in teaching French and/or languages. It is also a prerequisite for any application to a Master's degree focused on FLE.
Training objectives
The FLE License is aimed at all students and teachers, from Reunion Island and elsewhere, who already hold a License 2, and/or the University Diploma (DU) FLE, and wish to train or acquire a specialization in the field of language teaching and FLE.

Targeted skills
At the end of the training, teachers or future teachers must be able to:
- Analyze French teaching/learning situations in varied sociolinguistic, cultural and cognitive contexts
- Define objectives in terms of skills to be acquired (in terms of communication, language and cognitive operations in particular) taking into account the objectives set by the institutions or the curriculum in which they will be integrated
- Master the French system from the point of view of the foreign student (identifying systemic irregularities, skills in analyzing and using learner errors, etc.)
- Compare, adapt existing manuals and develop educational sequences adapted to the audiences
- Design assessments in reception and written and oral production
- 0open and run a website for educational purposes

Summary of lessons by course
- English: communicate in the target language, develop oral and written skills, participate in a virtual trip through a number of English-speaking countries, are the objectives of this module which will be offered to you in English, through learning media integrated into collaborative and fruitful sharing remotely.
- Linguistic functions: this course, focused on the traditional grammar of words and sentences, should allow participants to (re)discover certain points of French grammar that are important and sometimes difficult for foreigners.
- Languages, cultures and learning: this course aims to understand the inseparable links which unite the 3 concepts which constitute its title. Also, after having defined their characteristics, we will try to see how they fit together.
- Histories of methodologies: the objective of this course is to study the history of methodological trends in language teaching, particularly in FLE
- Evaluation: 1° preliminary and general reflection on evaluation: the reality of educational practices in France, the problems posed by evaluation, the different types of evaluation, the functions of evaluation // 2° applied evaluation to the teaching of FLE: typology of tools used in the context of evaluation, development of evaluation activities in receptive skills (written comprehension, oral comprehension).
- Foundations of FLE teaching: this course, combining theory and development of teaching skills, constitutes an introduction to the foundations of language teaching/FLE.
- French as a Second Language/French Language of Schooling (FLS): general reflections around the concept of FLS, the skills to be acquired in the context of FLS, situation of teaching of/in French in Madagascar and in so-called French-speaking Africa
- Creation of educational site/blogs: the objective is to design a site/blog on WordPress, for an audience of foreign learners with an intermediate level of French (B1-B2).
- Sociolinguistics: This course constitutes an introduction to the field of sociolinguistics. The following points will be discussed: the origins of modern linguistics, the birth of sociolinguistics, variation; Standard ; Native language " ; National/official languages; Vernacular/vehicular languages; pidgin/sabir/creole distinctions; Language planning/policy/planning
- Introduction to Gaelic: This course is an introduction to Gaelic. The objective is to learn to master the basics of speaking and writing in order to communicate in a very simple way in Gaelic (pre A1 level).
- French phonology: the fundamentals: articulatory phonetics, phonological description of French.
- Pre-professionalization: observation internship the objective is to raise students' awareness of the professional realities of language teachers.
