For students in an exchange program, registration is made directly with the International Relations Department (without going through the registration platform dedicated to the UEO).
Description of the WEU
This course will offer an overview of the imperial history of China from the Three Dynasties to the beginning of the Qing Dynasty.
The general objective of this WEU will therefore be to show the construction of the Chinese empire, on the basis of several regional and Asian cultures, and the construction of a single imperial system, and of successive dynasties, each having had an impact on Chinese civilization.
Ancient China is a period highlighting a self-built society, from the three ancient dynasties to the last Chinese dynasty of Qing.
From the unification of the Chinese empire to its divisions and foreign dynasties, the aim here is to examine this ancient heritage to understand the evolution of the Chinese world in a political, administrative, economic, cultural, religious, philosophical and diplomatic.
By retracing the entire dynastic cycle and their famous personalities, the courses present for each of these periods the essential events and what must be remembered to understand a rich and abundant culture.

- Organize, exhibit and illustrate in French your knowledge of the history of the Chinese world
- Memorize and restore the great periods of ancient China
- Retrace the course of its political history, its socio-cultural developments
- Identify its phenomena of continuities and ruptures.
- Decipher and memorize specific vocabulary and terminology specific to Chinese history. Apply them to the techniques of dissertation, text commentary and/or document synthesis.
