Description of the WEU

Learning a new foreign language: Malagasy

The course is dedicated to a beginner audience who is learning the Malagasy language. It is divided into several sequences based on themes chosen according to their interest in terms of communication. The sequences are composed of dialogues, grammar lessons, comprehension exercises and vocabulary.

This course aims to:

 

  • To provide the student with basic knowledge of the Malagasy language and civilization
  • In writing: learn to read and write texts in Malagasy
  • Orally: work on both comprehension and oral expression, continuously as interaction in everyday situations
  • Understand basic grammatical structures with emphasis on the specific elements of this language.

 

At the end of the course, the learner should be able to introduce themselves, carry on simple dialogue and understand everyday language utterances.
