Description of the WEU
The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic deadline will highlight sport around the world. This global phenomenon shows that the relationships between sport and space are numerous and close. The geography of sports allows us to better understand the broadcasts, locations and flows of athletes. What are the origins of modern sport? What are the modes of broadcasting sport in the world, in France and in the Indian Ocean? How can we characterize the centers and peripheries of sport? How can we explain the unequal distribution of sporting powers in the world? What are the territorial dynamics of sport in France? What are the territorial variations of sport in the Indian Ocean islands? How can we qualify the strengths and limitations of sports territories in this region of the world?
