Description of the WEU

The general objective of this WEU is to provide a historical overview of XNUMXth century China to understand the major challenges in China's domestic and foreign policy today.
By depicting the major political and social crises, the first part, “From the Qing to the Nationalist Republic,” will provide an analysis of the reasons for the birth of the Republic of China. The aim will be to analyze the end of the Chinese imperial system, and to understand China's vision vis-à-vis the West, through the various treaties established at that time.
Then, by detailing the emergence of political currents and their ideological and military confrontations, the second part "Evolutions of a State from 1912 to 1949" will expose China's desire to become a People's Republic to catch up with its predecessor. the West.
