Gap student

The student, regularly registered at the University of Reunion, may benefit from a temporary interruption of his training in order to acquire personal experience, either independently or within a a host organization in France or abroad.

The start of the gap period necessarily coincides with that of a university semester. Its duration cannot be less than that of one university semester, nor more than two consecutive semesters. Each study cycle entitles you to a single gap period. It can begin upon registration for the training and ends before the last semester of the end of this training regardless of the duration of the study cycle.

Students who wish to begin their gap year as soon as they enter higher education must send their request to: Parcoursup once he has accepted the admission offer.

In other cases, the request for a gap year must be made to the educational secretariat of the course in which the student is registered, indicating the nature, implementation methods and objectives of their project. The request is granted by the President of the university after consulting those responsible for training.

Throughout the gap period, the student must register at the university, which will issue them with a student card. Tuition fees must be paid.
