Educational goals :  

The Bachelor of Arts degree develops students' analytical, argumentative, and critical thinking skills. It allows them to acquire a solid general knowledge in literature, languages, and the arts, while deepening their understanding of the French language, its history and its Latin and medieval heritage, as well as modern languages.

The program also places significant emphasis on mastering written and oral communication skills, analytical methods, and research techniques, in order to support students' success throughout their university studies. It is particularly well-suited for further studies and careers in teaching, culture, publishing, documentation, and communication.

The Bachelor of Arts degree from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (LSH) at the University of Reunion Island is part of the vibrant cultural and academic scene of Reunion Island and the Indian Ocean region. It allows students to pursue further studies in teaching, research, and cultural professions. It also opens doors to the book industry, documentation, cultural mediation, communication, and writing professions.

First^st The first year (L1) consolidates the knowledge acquired by incoming students (general baccalaureate level) in French Literature, methodology and language proficiency. It introduces them to new fields such as comparative literature, Francophone literature and linguistics.

First^rd year (L2) refines the specialization with a rise in power in certain areas (such as theory).

First^rd year (L3) completes this specialization while opening up more to inter and transdisciplinarity, based on a good mastery of fundamental knowledge and skills in Literature.
