Training summary
The Professional Bachelor's Degree in Social Intervention: Support for Specific Populations, specializing in "Disability Liaison," aims to professionalize and strengthen the skills of individuals currently employed or in training in the field of disability support. Its ultimate goal is to establish the role of disability liaison as a fully-fledged profession, by supporting skills development and institutional recognition.
This training program is clearly aligned with a strategy of promoting and developing social and professional inclusion, responding to the growing needs identified in both the public and private sectors. Indeed, the widespread adoption of public policies supporting disability recognition, reinforced by recent regulatory requirements (2018 law, apprenticeship training centers, companies with more than 250 employees, etc.), necessitates the establishment of a qualified and operational disability liaison role.
The training allows the obtaining of a national diploma, promoting direct professional integration in public, private or associative organizations, in functions related to the support, accessibility, integration or retention in employment of people with disabilities.
Supported by the Réunion Region, the license is part of the territorial priorities of promoting an inclusive society, in connection with the challenges of universal accessibility, consideration of health, and development of autonomy and professional integration in a civic logic, in Réunion.
Educational objectives and training opportunities
Educational goals :
The training program's educational objectives aim to equip learners with the skills, knowledge, and operational expertise necessary for implementing, managing, and evaluating disability policies within public or private organizations. It also seeks to strengthen the recognition and legitimacy of the disability liaison officer by consolidating their position and strategic role within institutional dynamics.
More specifically, the training has several objectives:
- To acquire, deepen and master the knowledge and skills essential for the structuring, coordination and implementation of policies in favor of disability;
- Advising, supporting and assisting institutional actors (public or private) in the deployment of inclusive approaches, in accordance with regulatory frameworks, current social issues and knowing how to adapt to the capabilities of each.

Its value is further enhanced by the strong involvement of local stakeholders and the socio-economic sector of Réunion, with 40% of the teaching delivered by professionals from the public and private sectors. These contributions are governed by partnership agreements or subcontracting agreements with the University of Réunion.
Among the partners involved are:

Furthermore, the training program, it should be noted, pays particular attention to appropriate communication tools, which are essential for carrying out the duties of a disability liaison officer:
- 30 hours of instruction in French Sign Language (LSF) are planned, in order to develop communication skills
adapted for deafness - 15 hours of training in Easy-to-Read and Understand French (FALC) will address the challenges of linguistic accessibility for people with intellectual disabilities.
