Training summary

The Primary School Teaching License (LPE) is designed for students who wish to train for the profession of Primary School Teacher (PE). It offers:

  • An initial building of the knowledge and skills necessary for the profession;
  • an introduction to the school environment with 10 weeks of internship over 3 years;
  • a preparation for the competitive recruitment examination for primary school teachers (CRPE), open to holders of a Bac+3 level diploma.

The training program covers the principles and challenges of the education system, as well as all the essential knowledge for teaching in primary school. This disciplinary, pedagogical, and cross-curricular knowledge is presented in connection with practical placements: students are encouraged to analyze observed and implemented practices, and to move back and forth between theory and classroom reality, in order to develop professional skills.

The discovery of different educational contexts during internships (nursery school, primary school, middle school, special education, associations, extracurricular activities, mediation) allows students to gradually build their professional project.

This degree requires a high level of commitment from students: attendance at classes and completion of internships are mandatory.
