Training summary
The Bachelor of Social Sciences degree allows students to become familiar with the main disciplinary fields of the social sciences and to develop analytical skills in anthropological, psychological, and sociological phenomena. The first year (L1) of the Social Sciences degree consists of individualized pathways for student success.
The program structure comprises three types of Teaching Units (UEs). Major UEs are disciplinary (Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Geography, and History). Minor UEs are chosen from those offered by the departments of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (German, English, Spanish, Literature, Information and Communication, History, Geography, etc.). Finally, transversal UEs include a foreign language (English or Spanish), communication skills, digital literacy, and elective UEs (which allow students to choose subjects beyond the disciplines of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities – such as film, sports, culture, and economics).
Several modules within the Social Sciences Bachelor's degree allow students to take their first steps in research, developing their skills throughout the program. Students are also regularly invited to participate in seminars, research days, and conferences organized within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (UFR LSH). Furthermore, professional development modules distributed throughout the program will enable students to best prepare for their entry into the professional world.
