Training summary
The Mathematics Master aims to provide students with broad and solid skills in general mathematics oriented towards teaching and at the frontier of research. It is particularly suited to preparation for the mathematics aggregation competition, and opens the door to pursuing doctoral studies in all areas of mathematics.
Training aims
The Master's degree in mathematics aims to provide high-level training in two years, after the Bachelor's degree in mathematics, allowing students to have in-depth knowledge in the field.
At the end of the training, the graduate will have a spirit of analysis and synthesis, a necessary prerequisite for the preparation of an aggregation or specialization in research.
The student will have to acquire, understand and master a large number of mathematical tools and methods across a wide spectrum of fundamental courses forming the basis of the discipline.

- Manipulate theories developed in pure and applied mathematics
- Manipulate the main mathematical models involved in different disciplines
- Model problems using theoretical tools and verify the validity of the models adopted through appropriate experiments
- Design and program fundamental algorithms in mathematics
- Use the main scientific calculation software, as well as data acquisition and analysis
- Find and master new mathematical tools and concepts, particularly through the study of documents in English

The mathematics programs of the University of La Réunion cover the written program of the external mathematics aggregation.
The Master 1 year includes varied mathematics lessons: analysis, probability, algebra, advanced algorithms, scientific calculation, English and a research internship.
The Master 2 year offers oral preparation for the mathematics aggregation, an introduction to research in mathematics and fundamental computer science, as well as a research internship. The first session of the Master 2 jury is held before the date of eligibility for aggregation, which allows candidates to validate their competition in the event of success.
