Training summary
It is therefore an orientation system which allows one to prepare for different courses of higher education or professional integration.
Training aims
Its implementation responds to an observation: the very high number of dropouts in the first year of university which leads to a low success rate.
The decision to come to the University of Reunion often appears to be a default or easy choice for a very large number of young people.
The CPESIP year is built with a first transversal semester which ends with an orientation jury. The second semester offers a range of possibilities, allowing students to prepare in a more concrete way for the implementation of the personal and professional project that they have identified. At the end of the preparatory cycle, students are encouraged to continue either in a higher education sector or in another path that corresponds to their project.
Advantages of the training
The system was the winner of the PEPS 2019 prize in the field of “pedagogical innovation – support for student success”. It also obtained the DU PaRéo label “passport to success and direction”.
Targeted skills
The second semester is devoted to the acquisition of the basic skills necessary to pursue the training project developed. These skills are therefore specific to each course in the second semester.
Summary of lessons by course
- Act for their orientation and professional integration (development of their personal professional project, individual and collective meetings with guidance counselors, search for internships, professional communication)
- Master the disciplinary fundamentals (written and oral expression in French and English, mastery of digital technology and logic)
- Knowing yourself (interpersonal relationships, self-confidence, valuing your journey)
- Know your environment (news, Indian Ocean zone, public life)
Semester 2 preparation for the implementation of a professional project
