Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences

The Bachelor in Health Sciences aims to train students with theoretical, methodological and practical skills for support activities in the health sector related to:

• Research and innovation


• Health education


• Prevention and health promotion

During the Bachelor's degree, specific orientations are offered, such as: food biology, pharmacology, nutrition, health-safety-environment, connected health, nursing sciences, rehabilitation sciences, Health Access License (LAS), etc. . . The majority of Bachelor's degree holders continue their studies (Master's degree, specialized school, Grandes Ecoles, etc.) to train in professions in health, the environment, pharmacology, biotechnology and the agri-food industry.

At the end of the Bachelor of Science in Health:

• The student will have acquired a body of multidisciplinary knowledge, both in fundamental life sciences and in physicochemical, biological, pharmacological, toxicological sciences, etc.


• The student will have acquired the necessary scientific and technical knowledge in the areas of design and manufacturing of medicines and other health products.


• The student will be introduced to understanding the professional world and will have acquired a level of English allowing them to integrate into an industrial company.

• Have good scientific knowledge and skills aimed in particular at attesting to:
  - ability to analyze, pose a problem and conduct reasoning
  - capacity for abstraction, logic and modeling
  - very good mastery of the classical and experimental skills expected in physics, chemistry, life and earth sciences, mathematics at the end of the final year


• Have good communication skills aimed in particular at demonstrating:
  - ability to communicate in writing and orally in a rigorous and appropriate manner
  - ability to obtain documentation in at least one foreign language, primarily English, and desired written and oral ability at level B


• Have good methodological and behavioral knowledge and skills
  aimed in particular at attesting to:
  - learning capacity: curiosity, ability to organize and conduct learning
  - ability to provide a very large amount of personal work: being able to schedule it and stick to it over time


• Have human qualities, empathy, kindness and listening skills in all sectors leading to health professions

Scientific courses are offered (in chemistry, physics, computer science, mechanics, biology, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, pharmacy, galenics, etc.), as well as in human and social sciences, Information and Communication Technologies for Teaching (TICE), in communication and in English.

• License 1 in health sciences – Health Access (Licence Accès Santé -L.AS):
o Students in this course are intended to follow the courses of the Bachelor of Science in Health as well as courses in health offered by the UFR Santé of the University of Reunion.
o Students registered in the Health Access program are intended to apply for entrance exams to studies in medicine, midwifery, odontology and pharmacy

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

The Bachelor of Science in Health leads to health studies:

• medicine, odontology, midwifery and pharmacy


• for entrance exams to training schools for paramedical professions (nursing training for example).


• Master in Health

The License leads to numerous professions such as:

• managerial assistant


• supervisor in the fields of the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, agri-food industries, etc.
