International internships
Doing international internships as part of your studies is threefold important:
- This first of all shows the increased openness of the University towards the professional and economic world. More and more courses are making internships compulsory in the university curriculum, in order to make the bridge between the world of knowledge and that of business easier.
- The personal contribution of the internship abroad will obviously have beneficial effects for the student in his access to professional life.
- The internship will also have impacts, in the event of return to the island, on the development of the island's economy.
Erasmusintern.org
एलेक्जेंड्रा विल्किस विल्सन - has set up, in collaboration with the EC, the online platform Erasmusintern.org which allows students to find their internship and companies to find their interns! So don’t hesitate to use it!
You must contact the head of International Relations of your training. This is funding from the European Union which can be combined with other aid (see financial aid for mobility).
You must complete the online form on which the educational manager will make his decision.
Selection criteria :
- academic results and/or opinions of teachers (behavior, seriousness, attendance),
- language skills,
- the candidate's motivation (personal project, ability to adapt/integrate into a new environment).
Erasmus+ monthly allowance is €786 for internships. The University of Réunion pays:
- the travel package (which can go up to 1 500 €), calculated based on the kilometer distance that the student must travel to reach their internship location
- and the monthly allowance (€700) which is broken down as follows:
- 2 monthly payments if the duration of the internship is between 2 months and 4 months,
- 3 monthly payments if the duration of the internship is strictly greater than 4 months and less than or equal to 6 months,
- 4 monthly payments if the duration of the internship is strictly greater than 6 months.

The Erasmus + program pays particular attention to reception, orientation and educational and technical support and especially to the additional costs linked to the mobility of individuals with disabilities. The aim is to ensure that every individual fully benefits from their European mobility experience. Each higher education establishment, by signing the Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), is committed to ensuring equal access and mobility opportunities for participants from all backgrounds. Consequently, individuals with disabilities can benefit from the support services that the host institution offers to its students and staff. Here for information is the notes.
By adhering to the Erasmus+ University Charter, the University of Reunion is committed to managing study stays and internships in compliance with ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) standards and methodology.
Academic recognition of mobility is a key element of the international policy of the University of La Réunion.
For internship mobility, the student has an internship agreement.
For compulsory internships, the credits allocated to the internship period are included in the number of credits for the academic year after examination of the activities and the internship report by a jury. The transcript is sent to the student.
Who should take the tests? TOUS students undertaking mobility must:
- take a first test after their selection;
- a 2nd test upon return of their mobility
Except those who go to a country where the main language is their native language.
What objective? In order to measure the acquisition of language skills during your mobility.
The DRI is responsible for sending these tests.
Who can take online courses?
- All students who have a level lower than or equal to B1 on their first level test will automatically receive an email giving them access to the courses;
- Other students can contact the DRI to gain access. if we have enough licenses left.
When the file is complete, the DRI gives the student the Erasmus+ certificates (start/end) which will enable them to obtain payment of the scholarship in two installments upon receipt:
- 80% at the start upon receipt of the arrival certificate;
- balance of 20% upon receipt of the end of internship certificate and the Erasmus+ internship report.
- The DRI helps you complete the financial application files with local partners if you are eligible.
The REUNION program (Regional Exchange University Indian Ocean) is an ambitious program from the University of Reunion which aims to strengthen inter-university partnerships in the Indian Ocean region.
This is a large-scale supervised mobility program for the benefit of students and staff of universities in the Indian Ocean.
The REUNION program allows students at the University of La Réunion to benefit from financial aid to complete an internship of maximum duration of 5 months within a partner establishment (see list below) of the REUNION program.
The operation REGIONAL EXCHANGE UNIVERSITY INDIAN OCEAN (MEETING) is co-financed by the European Union as part of the INTERREG V-Indian Ocean cooperation program
Regional Exchange UNiversity Indian Ocean (MEETING) finances students from the University of Reunion an internship of maximum 5 months in one of the following establishments (for 2021-2022):

- Catholic University of Madagascar
- University of the Mascarenes

3 - I submit my application file to the DRI (at least three months before the start of the internship) by first completing the application form
Before you start filling out the form make sure you have:
- A letter of approval from your educational supervisor
- A letter of approval from the host university (e.g. from the faculty, department, or program director)
- A valid passport
- Transcripts from university years
- The school certificate at the University of Reunion
- An assessment of your language skills if necessary

Even abroad, I remain a student at the University of Réunion. I don't forget to re-register.
Upon my return, my internship report may allow me to validate ECTS (if this was specified in the model of my training)
Properly preparing your mobility involves knowing the expenses related to it.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of expenses to plan for:
- UR registration fees
- Transportation to the host country (round trip) – Possibility of aid (see below)
- Insurance and visa fees – Possibility of aid (see below)
- On-site accommodation – Possibility of aid (see below)
- Life on site (food, leisure, etc.)

- During the mobility year I am enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or certain internationalized licenses (e.g. the Professional License “Operation and maintenance of water treatment and production facilities, etc.)

- I have good academic results
- I have the language skills that allow me to carry out my internship
The student can benefit from financial aid from several partners. In addition, this aid is cumulative.
- If you are a student Crous scholarship holder, you will continue to receive your grant during your mobility.
- International Mobility Assistance Grant (AMI) from the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education:
- Scholarship students can benefit from additional aid of €400 per month over a period of 2 months minimum to 9 months maximum – FRI Form.
Please note: the award of this scholarship is not automatic.
- Support for visa fees up to 60 Euros
- Installation bonus from 800 Euros
- Monthly allowance 700 Euros for 5 months maximum
- Flat-rate support for transport costs (amount varies depending on the country)
Young Dynamics for Social Action (JDAS) – internships and volunteering
Since its creation, JDAS-togo has carried out missions in the south-east-west and north of Togo.
JDAS-TOGO brings together permanent members and temporary Togolese or foreign members. The latter are most often French students who come as part of an approved internship or as part of missions when the volunteer is not approved.
Interns or volunteers, depending on their skills and the projects proposed, take on the mission of their choice. Once there, certain members of the association take care of their supervision, monitoring their project and facilitating the steps they wish to take: it is essential to integrate the trainees into the environment corresponding to their mission and to allow them to meet resource people and relevant stakeholders in the area.
The permanent members of the association also undertake to facilitate the intern's stay in practical terms (meals and accommodation).
The functioning of the association is therefore based on the close collaboration of all members.
JDAS-togo's internship offers are opportunities to experience a reality, to carry out a comparative or feasibility study, to train or inform, to experience, to bring populations to discover their potential and find solutions through themselves ; in short, to make your contribution to improving the living conditions of the most deprived while demonstrating the practical application of your knowledge for improvement in your area of expertise. JDAS-togo internships are humanitarian and voluntary, but require the financial participation of the intern (for their stay).
Amount of internship/mission fees
The internship fees are 260 euros per month. Membership is 40 Euros giving the right to an association t-shirt.
These costs include: accommodation, food, access to the internet connection and the JDAS-togo program

- Study missions, creation, awareness raising and implementation of projects in waste management, sanitation and water supply,
- Missions to study the production and marketing of agricultural products, promotion and capacity building of agricultural groups, study and development of agro-pastoral projects, creation of agricultural projects, technology transfer activities in the peasant environment.
This mission is aimed at interns in: tourism, communication, commerce and marketing, management, information and communication, political sciences who will invest in the following missions:
- Clarification of the idea of the concept and establishment of the brochure presenting the concept of participatory tourism
- Surveys among part of the local public
- Creation and putting online of a concept website
- Establishment, implementation, organization and realization of a first test trip of relational tourism in a group
- Update, development, referencing, animation and monitoring of the concept's website
- Promotion of the concept to the general public and national and international tourism stakeholders
- Interventions from Monday to Friday at the School Complex (students aged 3 to 14),
- Setting up and running fun workshops for children on Wednesday afternoons in the neighborhoods,
- Organization, on Saturdays, of reading events and artistic exchange workshops at the association's “Marc Râmel” library,
- Establishment and management of a child welfare project:
- Redefine and strengthen the sponsorship program for orphaned and street children,
- Direct intervention with students to teach sign language to deaf children and give lessons adapted to mute children,
- Intervention with these disabled children at home: speech therapy and academic support,
- Implementation of “parent/child” communication tools within the families of these disabled children,
- Assessing the specific needs of each child and preparing treatment plans to help children with disabilities develop social skills and positive behaviors.
Their role will be to help the staff of public and private hospitals, orphanages and reintegration centers for former prisoners in Lomé and its surrounding areas under the following conditions:
- help assess the psychological state of patients suffering from the HIV/AIDS virus and assign them corresponding treatment.
- work with a neuropsychologist for special cases.
- assist in the general psychology department for daily consultations and patient monitoring.
- providing advice and opinions to women in rural clinics around Lomé and its surrounding areas, on subjects such as sexuality, pregnancy and setting up a family planning program.
- help train speech therapists in basic concepts of psychology in a mental health clinic which mainly welcomes children with mental and physical disabilities.
These interns can also work in orphanages welcoming children on the margins of society. The volunteers help the children to concentrate on their homework and help them develop their behavior in society. They also work directly with the director of the structure to train him in psychology methods.
Nursing and general medicine:
Mission reserved exclusively for professionals or students in the medical field.
Medical care
- Help the staff of our association’s “Saints Archangels” health center take care of patients by: applying dressings, taking pulse, blood pressure, temperature; controlling and administering medications, giving injections, setting up IVs and carrying out blood transfusions.
- Wash, shave and dress patients.
- Be attentive to the patient's needs and provide emotional support.
- Develop, in collaboration with our center team, a long-term development plan detailing changes in the organization's functioning with a view to improving methodologies and standards of care,
- Coordinate medical programs carried out with neighboring rural communities and in local clinics and dispensaries.
Medical care
- Carry out medical diagnoses, plan and administer appropriate treatments,
- Assist doctors with surgical interventions,
- Organize medical prevention programs for patients,
- Give advice on medical care and vaccinations.
Midwifery missions
- Participation in prenatal consultations,
- Administration of care, carrying out diagnoses, checks and examinations,
- Implementation of personalized health programs,
- Assistance and support for women during childbirth
- Childbirth practice,
- Advise new parents on daily care including feeding for newborns,
- Monitoring of newborns in the maternity ward.
Health prevention – social assistance and animation – education and social economy
- Implementation of activities to raise awareness among women and young girls about prevention against breast cancer and cervical cancer,
- Creation of awareness programs for women and couples about the practice of family planning.
Interns in information and communication, multimedia, commerce, marketing and management will be responsible for the following missions:
- Design of audiovisual documentaries presenting the association, these projects and the areas of intervention: definition of the title, concept and target of the report, making contact with the stakeholders, reconnaissance of the terrain, reconnaissance of the terrain, development of the story board, production of filming, post-production editing and broadcast
- Assistant in charge of communications for the association: creation of the association's website and updating, maintenance and animation of the association's social media pages, design and distribution of articles and newsletters on the association and its actions, design of the association's various communication supports and these cultural, tourist and environmental actions, creation of brochures for tourist products and posting online, management and maintenance of the visibility of the association's promotional stands during fairs
