Description of the WEU

The WEU introduction to the Ecological Transition for Sustainable Development (TEDS), intended for undergraduate students at the University of Réunion, aims to raise awareness among students of the issues and challenges of developing our society which takes into account the ecological and social impacts of our activities.

The teaching unit begins by providing a synthetic overview of the state of knowledge on the topic and an exposition of its historical evolution. Then, it seeks to show that this observation, which can be anxiety-provoking, also carries within it levers for action, through the imperatives of mitigation and adaptation.

Finally, we will focus on our island to see what is happening there, who is transitioning and how.

Please note that this UEO will be delivered primarily online, directly on the Moodle platform.
