The general objective of this UEO is to give students as wide a range as possible of the history of Chinese literature, from the classical period to the contemporary era.
By tracing the history of Chinese literature, from the classical world to the contemporary world, it will be a question of tracing a part of the history of China and the formation of Chinese thought and arts.

A journey through works and genres that are far removed from Western literature, with the Four Extraordinary Novels, a true classic of Chinese literature.

From poetry to prose, Chinese literature has great authors who manage to make people understand the Chinese world through its eras.

The second part will lay the foundations of women's literature, political literature and the evolution of fantasy and science fiction literature in China. Through various book presentations, it will be a question of having an understanding of Chinese literary trends, as well as Chinese manga and comics, which are increasingly popular in the West.

This course therefore offers extracts from works (translated), aiming to give students the general literary culture essential for having a more in-depth understanding of the Chinese world and especially of thought.
