Description of the WEU
This course starts from the level of students in Creole language and culture and offers a deepening of skills in comprehension and oral expression, reading and writing of Reunion Creole. Through 8 to 10 sessions of 2 to 3 hours, the main fields that will be explored concern the rules of functioning of the language, its writing and reading, the discovery of Creole-speaking literature, the translation from French into Creole and vice versa.
At the end of the course, learners should be able to communicate orally and written in Creole and better understand the societal issues concerning Reunion Creole. Tools (books available at the university, online document, contacts of resource people) will be offered to allow students to continue to deepen their skills and knowledge in the field.
