Asia Exchange

A partnership signed between the University of Reunion and the operator Asia Exchange allows students from the University of Réunion to go on study mobility for a semester in one of the following six universities:

The University of Réunion has signed an agreement with Asia Exchange, an organization that facilitates student mobility to several partner universities in Asia. Mobility takes place exclusively within the framework of this agreement; outside of this agreement, no exchanges are permitted under this scheme.

For the student, it is necessary:

  • to be registered at the University of Reunion,
  • to have validated at least one first year of higher education, with priority given to students at Bachelor's level 2 and above.


Selection is based on academic results, educational assessment (behavior, attendance, involvement), language skills (particularly in English), as well as the candidate's motivation and the consistency of their international study project.

As part of the agreement between the University of Reunion and Asia Exchange, selected students must pay tuition fees per semester, which vary depending on the partner university chosen. These fees cover course registration, administrative support, and on-site academic monitoring.

In addition, there are administration fee of €75, charged by Asia Exchange at the time of registration, regardless of the host institution.

⇒ Fees are indicated per semester of study. They do not include airfare, visa fees, health insurance or accommodation.

Students will have to pay the combined application and registration fees, at the latest three months before their mobility.

Other expenses to plan

In addition to the registration fees with the partner, here is a list of expenses to expect:

  • Registration fees at the University of Reunion
  • Transportation to the host country (round trip)
  • Accommodation and life on site
  • Insurance and visa fees
  • The student must prove that he or she is able to cover daily expenses (accommodation and living on site)

Pre-selection by the University of Reunion

Step 1: Choose the university(ies) you wish to apply to


Step 2 : Contact the educational manager of your course during the mobility period to present your project to them. At the same time, prepare your application file including the following documents:

  • Cover letter written in English
  • Letter in French from the head of your course giving their agreement for mobility in 2026/2027. You can use this model.
  • Certificate of education for the current year
  • Copy of transcripts from the first year of university

*Example: you are in your second year of Law in 2025-2026 and you would like to go on an exchange during your third year of Law, i.e. in 2026-2027. You should therefore contact the third year academic manager.


Step 3 : Access the Student portal and complete the form entitled “Applications – Study Mobilities 2026/2027”


Step 4 : Download the duly completed form, send it by email to educational manager of your sector for signature. Then send your complete file to outgoing@univ-reunion.fr before November 28, 2025.


Step 5 : A pre-selection committee, composed of teachers and teacher-researchers, international relations representatives within the faculties and components, will decide on the applications.

The commission will be held on December 11, 2025, the results will be communicated to the students from December 15, 2025 by email, through the International Relations and Regional Cooperation Department (SRICR).


Step 6: If your application is shortlisted, you will need to complete your study contract (educational contract) in tandem with the teacher responsible for the diploma to which you are registered at the University of Reunion in 2025/2026. This contract must be signed by this teacher, and yourself, then sent to the address outgoing@univ-reunion.fr

Selection by Asia Exchange

Step 7 : The International Relations and Regional Cooperation Department (SRICR) forwards your application to Asia Exchange, which coordinates students applying to the program.

This includes managing registrations and application files, support until departure (advice, answers to questions, communication with the host university) as well as sending the acceptance letter to students.

Asia Exchange will connect you with the partner university. Please check your email (including spam) regularly to ensure all online procedures are completed within the specified timeframe.

A mobility project is also being prepared on the financial level.
