International Profile Program – PPI

The International Profile Program (PPI) is an exchange program between Laval University in Quebec and the University of Reunion.
Laval University is located in Quebec City, designated a world heritage jewel by UNESCO. It has a long tradition of excellence, both through its study programs and its research.

Prerequisites
To participate in the PPI, you must be registered as a student at the University of La Réunion the year preceding the mobility.
Exchanges are mainly made from the 2nd year of Bachelor's degree, but students in the 3rd year of Bachelor's degree or even Master's degree have a better chance of having their application accepted.
This bilateral agreement between our two universities allows for incoming and outgoing study mobility, in the form of an exchange of:
- 6 students per year or 12 per semester for the Faculty of Science and Technology (UFR ST)
- 6 students per year or 12 per semester for the Faculty of Law and Economics (UFR DE)
- 5 students per year for the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (UFR LSH)
- 2 students per year for the Faculty of Health (UFR Santé)
Terms of participation
Stay costs
The fees required to enter Canadian soil are 6 – 700 Canadian dollars, or approximately €13 and €500.
Health and hospitalization insurance
Health and hospitalization insurance from Laval University is mandatory; no personal insurance can replace it.
Some foreign students may be exempt from the Laval University health insurance plan. For more information.
How to apply?
The application file
Le Application form must be completed online, printed and submitted signed within the time limits that will be indicated to you at the launch of the campaign to the RI relays:
- Mrs. HUMEAU Laurence, for the Faculty of Science and Technology
- Mr. MEHOUMOUD-ISSOP Zoulfikar, for the Faculty of Law and Economics
- Mr. ASENSIO-CERMENO Mariano, for the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences
- Mr. EL KALAMOUNI, for the Faculty of Health
Accompanied by the following pieces :
- cover letter
- photocopy of student card for the current year
- photocopies of university transcripts from all previous years
Please note that students who were not registered at the University of La Réunion the previous year must provide their transcripts from the establishments attended (for example for students in preparatory classes or BTS), as well as their baccalaureate transcript.
After the RI relays have submitted the successful SRICR* applications, students will receive an application form to complete online.
Upon receipt of the files and after the applications committee, Laval University will send the students the admission letter.
Duration of study stay
Students can go for a année or a semester :
- Fall semester: early September to mid-December
- Winter semester: from mid-January to end of April
Course choices
The student must validate his course selection with the educational manager of his training.
Confirmation of course choice is made at the start of the session at Laval University, according to the
availability of courses and authorization from program management.
To be able to register for language courses, the student must take a placement test before
beginning of classes. These courses have limited access.
Students have access to non-contingent courses in the programs according to the
availability on schedule at the time of exchange:
- 1st cycle (Baccalaureate) in biology
- 1st cycle (Baccalaureate) in anthropology
- 1st cycle (Baccalaureate) in sociology
- 1st cycle (Baccalaureate) in economy
- 1st cycle (Baccalaureate) in political science
- 1st cycle (Integrated baccalaureate) in public affairs and international relations political science
Number of hours per course: 45 hours (3-credit course) – 15-week session
Credits per session: 12 credits minimum (4 courses) – 15 credits maximum (5 courses)
Housing / Residences
Exchange students have a limited number of rooms. Nominated students will receive a specific exchange student booking form when completing their application form. It is recommended to wait to receive confirmation of admission before reserving rooms.
Please note that since leases are for 8 months, students who come for a single session will have to terminate their lease as indicated in their contract. Additional costs indicated on the rental contract are therefore to be expected for termination.

Mobility assistance from the Réunion region
Aid from the Réunion Region is intended for students who meet the following conditions:
- Be registered at the University of Reunion
- Provide proof of tax household in Reunion for more than 2 years
- Provide proof of French nationality or be a national of the European Union
- Be under 28 years of age on October 1 of the year of mobility.
- Have a taxable income of less than €95/year.
The amount of aid varies depending on the destination country. It is available to CROUS scholarship holders and non-scholarship holders.
Application files are centralized by the SRICR* but the management of this mobility assistance (allocation commission, payment, etc.) is managed directly by the Réunion Region.
The Réunion Region will send us the eligibility certificate containing the amount of the allocation granted, which the SRICR* will send individually to the students.
Payment terms
- 70% at the start of mobility
- 30% upon your return after sending to the SRICR* a 5-page mobility report and your end of stay certificate completed and signed by the partner university.
The student must send to the SRICR* a arrival certificate completed by the host university. It is necessary to make the first payments of aid linked to your mobility.
The balance of the scholarship will be paid upon receipt of theend of stay certificate.
International Mobility Assistance (AMI) from the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education
This aid only concerns social scholarship students from Higher Education with a scholarship notification for the year 2025/2026.
The amount of the allowance is approximately €13.33 per day. This is a partial allowance, which does not cover the entire duration of your stay.
The selection and the number of months of scholarship awarded are made by a university commission arbitrating between the files.
Selection criteria: previous academic results, cost of living in the host country, additional financial aid received by the student.
For information, students who went on mobility in 2024/2025 received 120 days of scholarship (i.e. €1600)
Important: Students receiving grants based on social criteria continue to receive their grant during their Erasmus+ mobility.

Payment terms
Mobility assistance will only be paid if you send the supporting documents below by email to the SRICR* at the following address: outgoing@univ-reunion.fr
- A certificate of arrival at the start of the stay completed and signed by the host university
- An end of stay certificate completed and signed by the host university

Once there
Register
The student must complete administrative and educational registration at the international office of the host university. Registration fees are not due because they were paid to the University of Réunion.
The course registration period takes place the week before classes start. “Rendez-vous Laval” welcome activity during the first week of classes.
The educational contract
You must contact your educational supervisor who helped you establish your study contract so that they can validate the modification(s).
ATTENTION: any modification must obtain prior agreement. The modified study contract must be sent to the SRICR*. Click here to download the form.
Student welcome
Each student will receive a student card and an email address.
The student card gives access to the PEPS (sports complex), the library, etc.
The recommended arrival date is one week before the start of classes.
Services offered on campus
Large sports complex (PEPS), library, service pavilion (pub, financial institution, cafeteria, hair salon, bookstore, student associations, etc.)
Several bus routes pass through the campus.
Laval University is equipped with an Eduroam wireless network
