20 years of the public research incubator
Integrated into the Technopole of La Réunion, the public research incubator of La Réunion is the only overseas system authorized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research aimed at promoting the transfer of technologies to the socio-economic world. -economic through the creation of innovative businesses.
This public research incubator has been supporting project leaders in the creation and launch of their start-ups in Reunion for 20 years.
129 projects entered into incubation between 2003 and 2023, all arising from public research or linked to public research. 62 innovative companies were created, generating 280 direct jobs, including managers. 3,9 million euros were invested in supporting the creation of innovative businesses.
The University of La Réunion has been one of the entities present since the incubator's inception, for 20 years. The leading research force in the region with 22 research units including 9 mixed research units, the University of La Réunion participated in the event with the presence of the President of the Academic Council, Professor Gilles LAJOIE, alongside the administrators provisional doctors of the doctoral schools of the University of La Réunion, MM. Philippe JEAN-PIERRE and Alain BASTIDE to celebrate this twentieth anniversary at the prefecture hotel.
