On February 9th, the University of the Comoros celebrated an important moment with the closing of the project DOCET4Africa and the inauguration of the country's first doctoral school.
The ceremony brought together the highest Comorian authorities, including the President of the Union of the Comoros, who came to support this major initiative for the scientific and academic development of the country. Also present were the Minister of National Education, Higher Education, Scientific Research, Vocational Training and Integration, as well as the representative of the European Union in the Comoros.

All members of the DOCET4Africa project consortium (https://www.docet4africa.com/) participated in the event, including the University of Reunion Island, represented by a delegation of faculty and administrative staff. This presence fostered collaboration and facilitated the exchange of best practices regarding the implementation of the new doctoral school, whose first cohort will consist of eight doctoral students. During the day, laboratory visits were organized to explore the establishment of joint supervision arrangements and strengthen international scientific partnerships, a crucial step for the development and sustainability of the school.

For the University of Reunion Island, this project was successfully completed thanks to the commitment of Professor Dominique Strasberg, whose central role in coordinating with partner universities enabled the creation of a strong consortium. The project, which concludes in a few months, is already paving the way for new initiatives and opportunities for scientific cooperation.
