The construction operation allowed the grouping of the three specialties of ESIROI (until then split up on the sites of Saint-Denis (Technopole) and Saint-Pierre) as well as the premises to accommodate two additional departments of the IUT (Hygiene, Safety, Environment and Marketing Techniques).

The objective of the operation was to create a real technological hub on the Saint-Pierre site by locating on the same place the existing premises of the IUT (five departments + license + research), the two departments of the IUT additional courses and the three specialties of ESIROI with its preparatory cycle.
This project makes it possible to optimize human and material resources, organizes and structures a pooling of premises, displays technical and technological training from Bac +1 to Doctorate with professional training diplomas at Bac + 2 (IUT), Bac + 3 (professional license), and Bac + 5 (engineer).
The operation finds its relevance and importance by becoming the tool for implementing the axes of the renewed strategy of the European Union, including that of improving the rate of graduates within the population of Reunion and the Indian Ocean zone, as well as supervision in companies to raise them to European level.
