Presentation, objective(s):

The TwInSolar project, led by the PIMENT laboratory at the University of Reunion Island, aims to develop the region's research capabilities by strengthening collaboration with DTU (Denmark). From a technical standpoint, the shared theme is the integration of advanced solar resource forecasting methods into the operational management of industrial photovoltaic systems. PIMENT researchers have developed recognized expertise in probabilistic forecasting methods and have designed a method for integrating them into the predictive control of energy systems. They now wish to accelerate their operational implementation. From a broader perspective, this project addresses the integration of probabilistic and/or stochastic forecasts into the decision-making process necessary for managing energy conversion and storage systems. The forecasts cover both production (supply) and consumption (demand). In this context, the first question is to further assess the gains (economic, technical, environmental) resulting from taking into account the uncertainty of short-term production and consumption forecasts in the operational management of an energy system. The second question concerns the integration of advanced forecasting algorithms into an operational industrial decision-making chain.
