From December 03 to 06, 2024, it brought together researchers, institutions and industry professionals in Pune (India) around a workshop organized by the French Embassy in India, the French Institute in India and IISER Pune, with the aim of strengthening the French and Indian innovation ecosystems, highlighting existing academic and industrial collaborations between France and India in the health sector and identifying new opportunities to build bridges between the academic and industrial worlds in this field.

The University of La Réunion, which is leading the ILIADE project (Innovation through plants and AI for India and France) with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) was present with its French partners (University of Poitiers, Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University and Lumière Lyon 2 University) and Indian partners (National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP) to provide their expertise on the challenges of new technologies in the field of health sciences, the development of new generations of (natural) health products to combat diseases, particularly infectious diseases, the contribution of human and social sciences in this field and the development of incubators encouraged by the construction of private and public partnerships.

This event, which is part of the Franco-Indian roadmap aimed in particular at welcoming 30 Indian students to France by 000 and preparing for the Franco-Indian year of innovation, made it possible both to strengthen interactions between the 2030 projects (joint conferences) and to measure the growing commitment of France and India to stimulate, via calls for projects, innovation in this field and to nurture academic and industrial collaborations.
