Multi-year real estate strategy plan (SPSI) 2025-2029

An essential tool in the management of the university's real estate assets, this plan has made it possible to define an intervention strategy aimed at ensuring the sustainability, performance and adaptability of its real estate assets in the medium term. This strategy is based on a realistic and targeted approach, founded on the following priorities: securing and upgrading existing assets, continuing projects already underway, supporting educational, scientific and social developments as well as the environmental transition of the assets.

Creation of the university ethics college

By appointing Ferdinand Mélin-Soucramanien, A recognized specialist in public ethics, as president of the very first College of Ethics, we are marking a decisive step in our institution's commitment to ethics and transparency. This independent college will concretely embody our desire to promote a culture of integrity and trust within our university, serving the public interest and public exemplarity.

Sale of the President's former official vehicle with allocation of funds to a SEMPH project for students with disabilities

To set an example and be consistent with our ethical commitment, we have decided to sell the president's former company car. The funds from this sale will be allocated in full to the Service Égalité – Mission Handicap (SEMPH) to acquire innovative equipment that directly meets the practical, everyday needs of students with disabilities, including telepresence robots and advanced hearing solutions. This approach reflects our strong commitment to promoting the inclusion and success of every student at our university.

COTECH: a collective dynamic serving the establishment project

From June 2 to 4, 2025, the University of Réunion organized an ambitious series of Technical Committees (CoTech), broadly involving departments, laboratories, services, and students. This collaborative effort, rooted in the reality of our institution, made it possible to jointly design an ambitious and realistic strategy around structuring priorities: training offerings, Indo-Pacific issues, research, ecological transition, student well-being, and renewed governance. A decisive collective commitment for the future of our university.

Signing of the agreement between the University of Reunion and ARFIS-OI

We have renewed our commitment with ARFIS Indian Ocean to strengthen the academic recognition of state diplomas in the social and medico-social sector. This strategic partnership will enable trained professionals to obtain a university degree, thus facilitating their mobility and employability, and directly contributing to meeting our region's priority needs in terms of social intervention.

Signing of the agreement between the University of Reunion and CRF-PIROI

The French Red Cross – PIROI (Indian Ocean Regional Intervention Platform) and the University of Réunion Island have signed a new framework partnership agreement to renew their collaboration. This mutual commitment aims to build lasting cooperation around training, research, and expertise in the fields of disaster risk management and climate change adaptation in the Indian Ocean.
