This Friday, June 20, 2025, ESIROI organized a tribute ceremony for Jean-Claude Galichet, administrative head of the school from 2011 to 2014.

This moment of reflection, both sober and warm, was held in the presence of:

  • Mr. Teddy CADERBY, Vice-President of the Board of Directors in charge of general affairs and representative of the President of the University
  • Mr. François GARDE, Director of ESIROI
  • members of the school staff and former colleagues from the University of Reunion, as well as relatives and family of Mr. GALICHET

This ceremony was marked by sincere testimonies praising his kindness, his commitment, and his deep attachment to the school. This was particularly the case with the testimony of Khalid Addi, the first director of ESIROI, which particularly made an impression. He shared with emotion the memories of his collaboration with Jean-Claude Galichet, evoking a man who was upright, committed, and endowed with exemplary rigor. With sincerity, he recalled how Jean-Claude "did not hesitate to go to the coalface" to defend the school and support his teams, assuming the most delicate responsibilities with courage and loyalty.

Jean-Claude Galichet worked at a key period in ESIROI's history. He notably helped to support the school's relocation and administrative structuring, to initiate the consolidation of the three specializations on a single site, voted in 2013 by the university's board of directors, and to develop training programs and the first international partnerships.

His rigor, his availability and his ability to bring people together have left a lasting mark on the collective memory of the school.

In recognition of his work and commitment, the ESIROI's main amphitheater now bears his name. The "Jean-Claude Galichet Amphitheater" plaque was unveiled at the close of the ceremony, in an emotional moment.

A friendly cocktail then allowed participants to share their memories of the man who contributed so much to ESIROI.
