The University of Réunion recorded a slight improvement in its professional equality index between 2023 and 2024, going from 88 to 89,73 out of 100.
This increase is mainly due to the reduction in the pay gap between women and men, particularly among permanent employees.
The professional equality index is calculated on a total of 100 points, based on three indicators applicable to public establishments:
- Overall pay gap for civil servants – 40 points
- Overall pay gap for contract workers – 40 points
- Parity among the 10 highest paid – 20 points
Results obtained:
| Year | Index normalized to 100 |
|---|---|
| 2023 | 88/100 |
| 2024 | 89,73/100 |
However, the indicator of female representation among the 10 highest paid positions remains at 0, thus limiting the overall score. This observation underscores the need for specific actions to promote women's access to the highest-paid positions. The absence of women at these levels remains a priority area for improvement, requiring increased efforts to promote women to senior positions.
In conclusion, the University of Réunion displays a satisfactory professional equality index, reflecting a generally balanced salary policy over the last two years.
