BQE project presentation day: the university celebrates educational innovation
May 27th 2026
On Friday, May 22, 2026, the University of Reunion organized the first day of feedback on the BQE projects – Budget Quality Education, a system carried out in partnership with the Reunion Region as part of the New Training Offer in order to support educational innovation and student success.
Deployed in close partnership with the Réunion Region, the BQE scheme is fully in line with the dynamics of the New Training Offer.
Its objective? To support experimentation, encourage the transformation of teaching practices and place student success at the heart of the institution's priorities.
The meeting began with an opening conference led by Nathalie Wallian, President of the Academic Council (CAC), and Laurent Didier, Vice-President of the Commission for Training and University Life (CFVU). Together, they outlined the current challenges to student success at the University of Reunion Island and the profound changes taking place in higher education.
Throughout the day, the program – alternating between plenary presentations, thematic roundtables, and poster sessions – provided a fantastic showcase for the experiments conducted within the various components. It was a valuable space for dialogue, sharing best practices, and collective emulation among peers.
This year, the call for projects supported 11 particularly diverse educational initiatives. The teams tackled crucial and contemporary themes:
- Personalized support towards student success
- The competency-based approach (CBA)
- The hybridization of teaching
- New educational uses of artificial intelligence and immersive environments
- The development of language skills
- International openness
- Raising awareness of environmental and societal issues is essential.
