Presentation, objective(s):

The MCP-iBAT project aimed to develop phase change materials (PCMs) suitable for the thermal performance required in humid tropical climates. These MCPs will be produced in Reunion Island and intended to be used for the construction and efficient thermal renovation of buildings located in the intertropical zone, in particular in the Indian Ocean zone. The ultimate goal is to improve the energy efficiency of buildings through the use of these PCMs. The innovative materials developed as part of this project aim to be used to design or renovate high energy performance buildings, which makes it possible to achieve energy savings and optimal thermal comfort. In addition, these materials have a small environmental footprint, because they are made from recycled industrial products, and their use has a low impact on air quality, for example.
