The appropriate solution for the electrification of areas not connected to the network, located in the upper reaches of Reunion Island, is the development of micro-grids. As part of this project, the PIMENT laboratory, in close collaboration with SIDELEC Réunion, worked on the experimentation of a micro electrical network on the Roche-Plate site.
This research work concerned:
- the study of a solar production and electrochemical storage unit supplying three homes; this unit has been operational since January 2019.
- The development of a mathematical model for managing electricity consumption in order to define the optimal mode of operation of this micronetwork.
- The creation of a decision support tool through a Human-Machine Interface in order to advise and guide users in reasoned consumption of energy resources.
