On December 16, 2025, the Board of Directors adopted a Charter on the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence within the University of Reunion Island.

This document aims to guide the use of these tools in a spirit of responsibility, transparency, and respect for university values, while encouraging enriched and innovative learning. It is addressed to the entire university community (staff and students) and clarifies existing internal regulations, as well as national and European legal frameworks (GDPR, AI Act), without replacing them.

If you use AI, whether you are a student, teacher, administrative or technical staff, it is very important that you read this Charter.Indeed, it will give you insights into practical matters, such as:

  • Am I allowed to use AI in my work?
  • If so, how can it be cited transparently?
  • Does the university offer or recommend AI tools?
  • How to avoid errors/hallucinations?
  • Who should I contact if I have questions or if I want to train in AI?

If this topic interests you, the university also organizes AI Cafés to discover tools, understand how they work, their impact on society, and to discuss them.
