Postponement of the Board of Directors (CA) from December 13, 2023 to February 2024

Message from the First Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors

Dear colleagues,

I would like to inform you of my decision to postpone the Board of Directors (CA) meeting initially scheduled for today.

As you know, two points of importance for our establishment were on the agenda, namely the study of the initial budget for the year 2024 and the associated employment campaign. They will therefore be processed in February 2024.

With the university's services, we have mobilized all our energy to provide useful answers to the various questions raised by the Academy as part of the usual dialogue which precedes a budgetary CA. We, on the one hand, made changes to our documents when the observations were founded and, on the other hand, clarified those which were not. In this regard, I would like to thank all the teams involved for producing the necessary documents and successfully completing this complex budget construction exercise.

That being said, this decision to postpone our proceedings appeared to me to be the most reasonable and I would like to explain my motivations to you.

First of all, Mr. Rector of the Academy, by an email sent to the administrators of this body this Monday, indicated the impossibility for him, at this stage, to issue an opinion on our budget. I therefore hope that we can take advantage of additional time to continue the dialogue initiated with the Academy and converge in the interest of the establishment.

Then, it seems to me that the conditions of serenity necessary for the conduct of a serene and peaceful Board of Directors were not met, given the unreasonable pressures exerted from all sides on the elected representatives of our body.

This is therefore a decision taken with full responsibility and other decisions will be taken in the interest of our establishment, its students and staff.

I would also like to reassure the entire university community: between now and February 2024, our university will continue to operate normally. Financial operations will be temporarily carried out on the basis of 80% of the initial budget of the previous year, thus ensuring the continuity of our research and training activities.

I thank you for your understanding and the support that many of you show me daily during this delicate period and I assure you of my involvement in serving the establishment and the general interest.

Dr Dominique MORAU
