Friday April 5, 2024, the president of the Réunion Region and the President and CEO of the National Research Agency (ANR) signed a three-year framework cooperation agreement for the period 2024-27, in the presence of research partners , including the University of Reunion, the region's leading research operator. The objectives of this partnership are to support and stimulate the development of research and innovation in Reunion Island, to promote synergies between regional and national research support systems, and to encourage leadership in Reunion research. locally, nationally and internationally. An ambitious partnership which is already illustrated by a first joint action: the evaluation of the territory's research projects submitted as part of the FEDER Research and Innovation Calls for Expression of Interest (AMI).

The University of Reunion, the region's leading operator in terms of research – both in terms of research projects carried out and existing infrastructure in key areas such as the observation of climate change and atmospheric sciences, Agroecology, marine sciences, biotechnologies and health were obviously present for this important signature.

A common ambition

Represented by Professor Jacques COMBY, provisional administrator of the institution, the University of Réunion will take its part in this strategic partnership between the Réunion Region and the ANR which responds to the common ambition of strengthening research and development capacities. innovation in the region.
Indeed, the university community is already active in submitting research projects to the ANR with success rates in generic calls for projects in the national average.

  •  Sharing data on the selection of Reunion projects thanks to data anr, the ANR's new interactive platform dedicated to sharing its open data.
  •  Improved visibility of Reunion research funding tools via the portal callsprojetsrecherche.fr
  • Co-financing of regional themed calls for projects
  •  Scientific, administrative and financial monitoring of projects falling under regional funding instruments
