The 2025 French-Creole bilingual eloquence competition, organised by the National Higher Institute of Teaching and Education of Reunion Island (INSPE) and the Institute of Illiteracy, was held on 28 October 2025 at INSPE as part of the "cordées de la réussite" program on the theme "tiembo larg pas".
This event brought together high school and university students to express the power of speech and celebrate the richness of Creole culture in an atmosphere that was intellectual, festive and musical.
Let's talk together: Creole and French, two sister languages, two ways of inhabiting the world, two breaths for the same idea. Democracy begins with a well-spoken and well-heard phrase: Parol lé zoli kan li lé di ek kouraz.
One after another, the young speakers took the floor in French and Creole. Their speeches deeply moved the audience: "Pawol sé lasyans lézom, sé lémosion ké a nou"
A Creole musical performance filled the hall with the sounds of maloya. The fonker and Creole music served as a reminder that the Creole language is also expressed through music.
The jury praised the quality of the speeches and the ease of the participants.
The winners of this edition are:
1st prize – Winner of the competition: LAURET Pauline
2nd prize – Oratory excellence: Remiot Léa
3rd prize – Originality and impact of the speech: FOUMENAIGUE Cedella
4th prize – Jury's favorite: LEFEBVRE Éléanore
5th prize – Encouragement prize: SAUTRON Loïc
This bilingual competition illustrates the desire to promote bilingualism, creativity and the appreciation of Creole heritage.
The organizers thank the participants, the juries, the partners and the artists who contributed to the success of this edition.
Through words and music, this competition continues to promote culture and youth.
