Le Bachelor The University Diploma in Technology Networks and Telecommunications (BUT R&T) aims to train, over three years, professionals specializing in networks and telecommunications. These professionals will be able to understand, implement, configure, and maintain equipment and information systems while ensuring their physical and software security.
The training provided within our department enables future graduates to pursue various professional activities, such as:
- Design, install and administer IT network infrastructure and services, as well as cloud solutions.
- Deploy and administer telecommunications solutions, both fixed and mobile, and communication systems such as: VoIP, teleconferencing, videoconferencing, video surveillance and chat services.
- Analyze, monitor and coordinate projects: participate in the deployment and maintenance of an information system, as well as software solutions; contribute to the development of IT tools for network management or to ensure the cybersecurity of information systems.
The course Cybersecurity (Cyber) The BUT R&T (Networks and Telecommunications) program, offered by the Networks and Telecommunications department of the Saint-Pierre University Institute of Technology (IUT), trains professionals in analyzing the risks of attacks threatening a company's information systems. This program encompasses all professions related to information systems security, from the installation of security equipment to its monitoring. A cybersecurity specialist is capable of administering a secure information system, monitoring it, and detecting and mitigating cyberattacks.

Course Description
The BUT R&T Cybersecurity program trains competent professionals in the design, administration and security of digital communication systems.
The key technical content taught is as follows:
- IP Networks (Internet Protocol) and protocols: Transmission Control Protocol/Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/IP, routing, Virtual Local Area Network/Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Virtual Private Network/Virtual Private Network (VPN), etc.
- Linux and Windows system administration
- Virtualization, cloud, cybersecurity: firewalls, Intrusion Detection System / iintrusion detection system (IDS), Group Policy Object (GPO), etc.
- Radio technologies, fiber optics, Voice over IP/Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), mobile telephony
- Programming (Python, C, network scripts)
- Databases, web development and connected services

Specific teaching methods
Internships and supervised projects
- In the 2nd year (BUT 2): 8 weeks of internship from the beginning of April to the end of June.
- In the 3rd year (BUT 3): 14 weeks of internship from March to the end of June.
The course is also available in a work-study format for the 2nd and 3rd years (the work-study schedule is defined at the beginning of the academic year).
Learning and assessment situations (LAS) mobilizing supervised project hours defined by the National Program (NP) are implemented throughout the year.

Application procedures
Depending on the student's situation, applications to enter the first year of BUT (BUT 1) take place according to two specific procedures (the national platform Parcoursup, Études en France).

Baccalaureate or equivalent for admission to BUT 1.
Baccalaureate + 1 for admission to a bridging program.
Baccalaureate + 2 or equivalent for an application for admission to BUT 2 or BUT 3.
Target audience
Holders of a general scientific or technological baccalaureate for admission to BUT 1 and depending on the diploma being prepared (BTS,…) for admission to BUT 2 or BUT 3 (bridging course).
