Description of the WEU
The Grand Tour designates, from the end of the 18th century, the long initiatory journey of young European aristocrats to neighboring cities and countries. Experiencing other people, other countries, other ways of life and discovering the thinkers, the artists, the emblematic buildings of each region was an accomplished, albeit elitist, form of education. The UEO “Contemporary architectural and urban culture” offers a virtual and global Grand Tour to discover the greatest architects and urban planners who have shaped our vision of space, light and contemporary living together.
