Description of the WEU
In a world characterized by mobility, international exchange, and cultural diversity, the ability to understand and interpret cultural differences is an essential skill. This elective course offers students the opportunity to explore the mechanisms of intercultural communication and analyze how cultural representations, values, and norms influence human interactions.
Through concrete situations, case studies, testimonials, audiovisual materials, and role-playing exercises, students will be encouraged to reflect on the concepts of culture, identity, stereotypes, and prejudices. They will learn to identify potential sources of intercultural misunderstandings and develop strategies that promote respectful and effective communication in multicultural contexts.
This elective course is aimed at all students wishing to better understand contemporary societies, develop their open-mindedness and strengthen their relational skills in international or culturally diverse environments.
This elective course aims to enable students to understand the main concepts related to interculturality and to analyze the mechanisms involved in interactions between people from different cultures. Its objective is to guide them in identifying and interpreting intercultural communication situations, while developing critical thinking about stereotypes, prejudices, and cultural representations. Students will also strengthen their adaptation and communication skills in multicultural contexts, enabling them to thrive in academic, professional, and social environments characterized by cultural diversity. Finally, the course will contribute to the development of intercultural skills that foster open-mindedness, mutual understanding, and cooperation in an international context.
