Description of the WEU
“Discover an exciting linguistic adventure! Dive into the world of intercomprehension, an innovative method that allows you to communicate with speakers of different languages without ever changing your own. Imagine speaking in your native language while the other person responds in their own, and yet you understand each other!”
In this online course, we will explore written receptive intercomprehension through captivating texts from various neo-Latin languages, whether national or regional. Through our journey through these texts, you will develop a deep understanding of global meaning, even in a Romance language that you did not know at the beginning of the course.
But that's not all! In addition to opening the doors to international communication, intercomprehension respects the richness of each language, allowing you to express yourself fully in your mother tongue.
By the end of this enriching semester, you will be able to decipher the overall meaning of texts written in an initially unknown Romance language, while identifying the subtleties and distinctive characteristics of each Romance language through their unique formal aspects. Join us on this exciting adventure where languages are bridges to new cultures and new perspectives!
