Description of the WEU

If modern China seems to rhyme with industry and the race for performance, the soul of modern Chinese still has its roots in the soil of the garden of Chinese scholars.

For several millennia, Chinese scholars, led by the illustrious Confucius, have been the emblematic reference for the Chinese who draw their philosophical and artistic inspiration from them. Nourished by Confucianism, Taoism and Zen Buddhism, they were true aesthetes capable of tasting beauty in forms as varied as nature.
poetry, calligraphy, gastronomy or more simply the contemplation of nature.

Just like the scholars of old, let yourself be guided through the garden from which Chinese culture draws its energy. Around a century-old tree, you will be introduced to Tang poetry, while on an old mossy stone, you will discover the art of calligraphy. ZHOU fang opens the doors to another world for you.

During this UEO, you will learn, through the study of artistic works (poetry, drawing, calligraphy, gastronomy), to appreciate the beauty of Chinese art. This will naturally lead you to better understand the philosophy of this people and to appreciate their legendary spirituality. You will take the opportunity to introduce yourself to the age-old art of one of the intangible treasures of humanity: Chinese writing.
