Description of the WEU

The history of political ideas studies all knowledge relating to legitimacy, organization and the purposes of power. She is interested in very diverse knowledge dealing with government, the common good, justice and peace, the rules of common life, or even the collective destiny of society. It questions the philosophical, doctrinal or ideological conceptions from which the functions and responsibilities of those who govern, but also the rights and obligations of those who obey, are determined. It attempts to understand how social, ethical and legal theories used to organize public life are based on more general thoughts relating to nature, religion, the universe, the individual, social classes, communities or society as a whole.
